Deborah Pady is currently Head of the Music Department at Earl Haig Secondary School and Claude Watson Arts Program. She received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Toronto and went on to complete her Post-Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of Cambridge, England.
At Earl Haig, Deborah conducts multiple ensembles, including string orchestras and the symphony orchestra in addition to leading multiple collaborative projects, concerts and events within the school. She has been the conductor of the Intermediate Orchestra with Mooredale Youth Orchestras since 2017, working with students from ages 7 – 17. Deborah has performed as soloist, a chamber musician and with various ensembles including the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Toronto. She was a founding director of the Ontario Strings Association which coordinates annual educational clinics, festivals and a provincial youth orchestra.
As a clinician, Deborah has presented workshops on repertoire, performance and rehearsal techniques at the invitation of the Faculties of Music at several Ontario universities, the Ontario Music Educators Association provincial conferences as well as for various Toronto District School Board events. Deborah has been an adjudicator with the OSA Festival, and is looking forward to her experience with OYMI Music Festival.
